A journey through time

From the former summer residence …

“Villa Mayr”, already mentioned in 1570, is the former summer residence of the “Elefant” Hotel.

… to a guest house with famous guests …

Vahrn near Brixen has since become a famous health resort area. In 1878, Theres Mayr took over the reins and the Villa was renovated according to the designs by Wilhelm Seidner and became a boarding house. One of the most famous guests was, for example, Gustav Mahler.

… to the beginnings of Villa Mayr …

In 1951, the house was purchased by Josef Pichler and his wife Maria Fischer with the contemporary witnesses, an ancient chestnut tree and the old vine, from the grandparents on the mother’s side. Later, it was left to their grandson Robert Burger and his family.

… until today: A complete work with substance & charisma

We have restored and renovated the house from our ancestors with love. Old building components were maintained and combined in harmony with modern structures. The connection between old and new remains, the atmosphere of the past has been lovingly revived: The 150 year old vine has been transformed into a vine arbour, which invites you to linger in spring, summer and fall. The tall chestnut tree provides shade and decorates our front garden in its own charismatic way.
